Welcome

This is the website for the AI (Amnesty International) group in Durham, UK. Our group started in 1978 and has been running for over twenty-five years. In 2003 we celebrated our 25th Anniversary, with, amongst other things, a demonstration against President Bush when he visited Sedgefield.

New members are always welcome! We encourage any AI members living in County Durham to come along to the meetings and get involved in the local group's activities. (See the diary of events for forthcoming meetings and other activities.) If you would like to get involved but cannot make it to meetings, please contact us.

We campaign on a range of human rights issues: details of our current campaigns are under Campaigns & Activities, while many pictures of our previous activities can be seen in the photo gallery.
